‘Day of Action’ demonstration planned in McArthur on Saturday morningFree Access

Community members from across the region are invited to gather for a “Day of Action” on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and State Route 93 in downtown McArthur.

McArthur resident Bill Beckley announced the event in a press release.

According to an organizer, “this nonpartisan event is a demonstration against the actions of both federal and state governments with a focus on issues affecting veterans, seniors, educators, the LGBTQ+ community, and more.”

Organizers are calling for all individuals, regardless of political ideology, to join in standing up for the issues that matter most to them. From Social Security and healthcare programs like Medicare and Medicaid to veterans’ concerns and educational policies, the event aims to provide a platform for people to express their frustrations and make their voices heard.

“We’re coming together to show that we are dissatisfied with how things are being handled by our leaders,” said one of the event organizers. “This is a gathering of all people — whether you’re for or against a particular policy, we want to hear your concerns and ensure they are seen and heard. It’s about being real, respectful, and united in our desire for change.”

“Participants are encouraged to bring their own signs reflecting the causes that are most important to them,” the announcement stated. “From issues around healthcare to education and veterans’ rights, this gathering provides an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity and demand action from elected officials.”

While the rally encourages free expression, organizers emphasize that the event will remain nonviolent and respectful. “We want this to be an opportunity for constructive dialogue,” one of the organizers noted. “We are offended by the way our communities are being neglected and we want to make sure our government knows that.”

Those planning to attend are asked to email [email protected] to confirm their participation and receive additional event details.

“All are welcome to join in this important event to voice concerns and take a stand for the future,” the announcement concluded.
