The Vinton County Board of Elections Office would like to notify the public that the deadline to register to vote or change voter-registration information for the Aug. 2 Special Primary Election in Ohio is Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

To be a registered voter, one must be a United States citizen, be a resident of Ohio for 30 days prior to the election, and be 18 years of age on or before Nov. 2, 2022.

Also, if you have moved or will move prior to Election Day, or if you have changed your name, you should report that change to the Vinton County Board of Elections Office by July 5, 2022. If you fail to report your address/name change by the July 5 deadline, you are still eligible to cast a provisional ballot, For provisional ballot information, please call 740-596-5855.

The Vinton County Board of Elections Office is located at 31935 State Route 93, McArthur, Ohio, 45651, in the Vinton County Community Building. The office is open regularly from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Voter-registration can also be done at the Vinton County Department of Job and Family Services and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) office in McArthur.
