Recovery from the COVID-19 virus has increased in Vinton County during the past week, at the cost of yet more losses of life.

According to the latest report from the Vinton County Health Department, released Monday, Nov. 15, 11 fewer cases are now active in the county – 25 current cases, decreasing from last week’s total of 36. On the whole, 1,371 cases have been confirmed in the county. Conversely, and on a more positive note, 1,730 residents of Vinton County have now recovered from the virus, an increase of 33 cases since the Nov. 8 report.

Unfortunately, three more in Vinton County have perished due to COVID-19-related complications since the Nov. 8 report, which brings the total death count to 38. Six persons are also hospitalized due to the coronavirus, one more individual than last week’s tally.
