The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash in Ross County, which occurred early Monday, Feb. 15, which involved a Vinton County man and an Ohio State Highway Patrol vehicle.

According to the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 6:18 a.m. Monday on State Route 159. A 2009 Chevrolet Equinox sports utility vehicle driven by Brenda Madru, 59, of Chillicothe, was traveling southbound on State Route 159.  Madru’s vehicle traveled over the center line striking a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by James McManus, 62, of Hamden, who was traveling northbound on State Route 159. 

Madru’s vehicle then struck a State Highway Patrol vehicle driven by Trooper N. Mathias. Trooper Mathias was traveling northbound and was stopped in a turn lane waiting to turn left onto Overbridge Road.

McManus was transported to Chillicothe Adena Medical Center for precautionary reasons. Madru and Trooper Mathias were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.by the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
