RACINE – The Jackson Ironladies volleyball team earned their sixth consecutive win Thursday night at Southern, defeating the Lady Tornadoes in straight sets. Jackson won by scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-11.

The Ironladies compiled a .182 hitting percentage, putting down 29 kills on 99 attempts with just 11 hitting errors. They also had 13 aces from the service line and notched 55 digs on defense.

Kloe Zink led Jackson’s attack with 12 kills, while Kaycee Jenkins and Sydney Hughes had six kills apiece. Jorja Bapst contributed two kills, while Olivia Moore, Kaydee Brown, and Halle Hughes had one apiece.

Halle Hughes led the offense from her setter’s position with 16 assists, adding seven digs and three aces.

Brown led the defense with 18 digs, and Zink had 11 for the Ironladies.

The Ironladies, which drew the No. 7 seed for the sectional tournament in Division II, will host No. 10 Lancaster Fairfield Union in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. inside the Jackson High School gymnasium.

Jackson 3, Washington Court House 0: The Jackson volleyball team won a Frontier Athletic Conference match on the road against Washington Court House by a score of 25-20, 25-17., 25-14 on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The Ironladies finished with 35 kills for the match, led by Kloe Zink with 12 and Jorja Bapst with 10.

Kaycee Perkins finished with four-block assist and one solo for Jackson, which had seven total blocks in the win.

Two players finished in double figures in assists, led by Halle Hughes with 17, and Payton Taylor had 12.

On defense, Sydney Hughes had a team-high 13 digs, and Zink added 12. Kaydee Brown finished with nine digs, while Halle Hughes had eight, and Taylor had seven.

Jackson 3, Warren 1: The Jackson volleyball team recorded a 3-1 victory against Warren on Monday, Oct. 5.

After winning the opening two sets, 27-25, 25-17, the Ironladies lost in the third set, 25-20, before winning 25-10 in the fourth set to capture the victory.

Jackson improved to 7-7 on the season with the win.

Kloe Zink led Jackson with 13 kills. She also added 13 digs and two ace serves.

Kaycee Perkins had seven kills for the Ironladies, along with six block assists and one solo.

Halle Hughes had a team-high 24 assists and 11 digs, while Payton Taylor finished with 11 assists and seven digs for Jackson.

Jackson libero Kaydee Brown led the defense with 24 digs.
