JACKSON – The Jackson Ironladies lost on the road at Miami Trace, 3-0, in a Frontier Athletic Conference volleyball match on Thursday evening.

The Ironladies lost in straight sets by the scores, 25-11, 25-17, and 25-15, dropping to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in FAC play.

Miami Trace attacked its way to victory with 35 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. The Lady Panthers had only 12 errors on 69 attempts.

Leading the offensive output for the Lady Panthers were Laura Robinson, who hit .381 and finished with a match-best 13 kills, while Sophia Parsons added eight kills on a .412 mark with one error on 17 attempts.

For the match, Jackson was held to a .083 hitting percentage. The Ironladies had only 12 kills, including five from Sydney Hughes and three by Madelyn Cross. Taylor Yeager finished with two kills, while Olivia Moore and Allie Bradbury had one each.

Miami Trace recorded two blocks and 39 digs compared to no blocks and 24 digs for Jackson.

Thursday’s match at Miami Trace was the first of a two-match road swing for the Ironladies that will conclude at Wheelersburg on Thursday. They will return home to face McClain on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
