The Oak Hill Oaks could not hang on as the Waverly Tigers broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning and claimed a 2-1 Southern Ohio Conference Division II Wednesday afternoon win. With the loss, Oak Hill slips to 8-11 overall and 4-7 in SOC Division II play.

The game-winning run came when JT Barnett singled to left field to score Jace Hurd to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

The Oaks lone run came in the third inning when Landon Hines reached on a dropped third strike. He crossed the plate on a single to right field by Aiden Hall that tied the game. Oak Hill was limited to four hits. In addition to Hall's RBI single, the Oaks also received hits from Flint Barger, Gavin Howell, Nicholas Swisher Wavely had seven hits in the game as Derek Eubin led the way with two hits.

On the mound, Derick Eblin earned the victory. He went six innings, allowing four hits, striking out seven, and walked one.

Flint Barger took the loss for the Oak. He allowed seven hits over six innings and struck out seven batters.

The Oaks return will  host South Webster in a SOC Division II contest on Monday.

Wheelersburg 15 Oak Hill 1

The Oak Hill Oaks dropped a 15-1 decision to the Wheelersburg Pirates in Southern Ohio Conference Division II baseball game on Monday afternoon.

The Oaks lone run came in the first inning as Flint Barger singled to left field and drove home Landon Hines who had a lead-off single.

Oak Hill had four hits in the contest.

On the mound, Elias Robinson got the win for Wheelersburg. He gave up four hits over six innings, striking out five batters.

Rylan Sams took the loss Oak Hill. He went four innings, surrendered six runs on three hits, and struck out six. Nathan Clutters and Landon Hines each pitched an inning in relief for the Oaks.
