The 8th Annual Jackson Area Kiwanis Club Golf Outing will take place on Sunday, July 11 at the Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a “shotgun start” at 2:30 p.m.

The cost for this event is $260 per adult team, or $65 per player. 60 to 72 players will be accepted into this scramble, or 15 to 18 four-person teams. This price will include entry for 18 holes of golf, a riding cart, green fees, one mulligan, one skirt, and a grilled dinner. For an additional $20, players can enter themselves in the putting contest, the grand door prize drawing, the split-the-pot drawing, and the “closest to the pin” contest. A drink cart will also roam the course during the event, offering bottled water and soda.

A putting contest will be held at 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.; for $5, contestants will receive 3 balls and the chance to win a prize. Hole 12 will be the focus for the “closest to the pin” challenge; $5 will enter the player into the contest and the closest shot will split the winnings.

A minimum of 36 is allowed for team handicaps; no maximum is set, however. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place teams. The final cash prizes will total between $550 and $1,100, depending on the total teams entered. In addition, a Grand Door Prize will be offered and awarded from a drawing. All prizes will be awarded after completion of the tournament.

All profits from this event will go to the Kiwanis Club to support local children’s programs.
