BIDWELL – Resilient is the word that best describes the Oak Hill Lady Oaks after winning back-to-back games on the road in a matter of two days.

Following a 53-44 win on the road against South Gallia on Saturday, the Lady Oaks had three players score in double figures to lead them in a 50-40 non-conference victory on Monday against River Valley.

The Lady Oaks (7-6) also celebrated senior forward Chloe Chambers’ accomplishment of reaching 1,000 career rebounds. She finished the night with 21 points to lead Oak Hill in scoring.

It came down to the fourth quarter for the Lady Oaks, who trailed River Valley by a 33-31 margin going into the final frame.

Chambers scored 10 of her team-high 21 points to spark a 19-7 scoring advantage in the fourth for the double-digit victory.

Besides Chambers, the Lady Oaks had two more players reach double figures, including Baylee Howell with 13 points and Brooke Howard with 12.

Also, Jordan Howard and Tori Bodey scored two points each for Oak Hill.

River Valley took a slim 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Lauren Twyman scored 18 of her game-high 26 points in the first half to give the Lady Raiders a 23-20 lead at halftime.

The Lady Oaks will remain on the road in non-league action on Wednesday at Wellston. They will host Eastern in a SOC Division II contest on Thursday.

South Webster 60, Oak Hill 42

SOUTH WEBSTER – Brooke Howard scored 14 points to lead the Oak Hill Lady Oaks in a 60-42 loss on the road against South Webster last Monday, Jan. 3.

Baylee Howell and Chloe Chambers chipped in with 13 points apiece and Tori Bodey had two in the loss.

Oak Hill dropped to 5-6, including 5-3 in the SOC Division II with the loss. Meanwhile, South Webster is now 8-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Bri Claxon led the Lady Jeeps and all scorers with a game-high 31 points in the win, followed by Skylar Zimmerman with 14.

The Lady Oaks trailed 16-8 at the end of the first quarter and 35-15 at halftime.

Oak Hill held a 27-25 scoring advantage in the second half.
