WEST LAFAYETTE – The Oak Hill Oaks season ended Saturday night with a 49-7 loss to the Ridgewood Generals in a Division V, Region 19 second-round football game at West Lafayette.

Four turnovers hurt the Oaks (3-5) as the Generals (7-0) exploded for 35 points in the second quarter to lead 42-0 at halftime.

The lone Oak Hill score came with 2:12 left in the third quarter when quarterback Darrick Boggs threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Alex Firpo.

The score, however, was too little too late as Oak Hill trailed 42-8.

Firpo was also the leading rusher with 28 yards for the Oaks. The team had only had 98 yards rushing for the game, and Boggs was 8 of 12 passing for 61-yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

The Oaks also had seven first downs on the night.

The Generals scored early on their initial drive of the game, as quarterback Gabe Tingle hit Dalton Patterson on a 36-yard touchdown pass with 11:03 left in the first quarter.

Oak Hill’s defense stiffened for the remainder of the quarter.

The Oaks had an impressive drive to the Ridgewood 19-yard line in the first quarter before turning the ball over on downs.

The second quarter was a different story, as Ridgewood scored 35 unanswered points.

The Generals took a 14-0 lead on a 67-yard scoring pass from Tingle to Javan Belt.

Only 41 seconds passed before the Generals would score again when Patterson picked off a Boggs’ pass and returned it for a 12-yard touchdown with 11:09 left to play.

Ridgewood scored again on a 46-yard pass from Tingle to Patterson less than three minutes later.

The Generals extended the lead to 35-0 with 5:22 remaining on Deontae Brandon’s 18-yard touchdown run, and then Tingle connected with Kigenn Millender for a 54-yard touchdown pass to take a 42-0 lead at halftime.

Ridgewood added an insurance score with 4:53 left in the game on a 16-yard touchdown run by Josiah Cayhill.
