JACKSON – The Wellston boys’ golf team finished third, and Vinton County was fourth in the fourth Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division match, held on Thursday at Franklin Valley Golf Course.

Athens won the meet with a score of 174, while Meigs finished second at 195, and Wellston was third with a 209. The order of finish after that was Vinton County (217) and River Valley (237), while Alexander and Nelsonville-York did not have a team score.

Jaxson Montgomery was Wellston’s best finisher with a score of 50, while Will Zinn had a 51, followed by Brayden Daniels with a 52, and Will Briggs carded a 56 to round out the scoring for the Rockets. Josh Jackson shot 60, and Logan Martin finished with 66.

Brock Hamon led Vinton County with a 46. Isaiah Allen finished with a 52, while Sam Huston had a 59, and Aden Woodgeard had 60. Asa Davidson shot 61 for the Vikings, and Adam Tichenor had 62.

Tyson Smith of Athens was the individual medalist with a score of 40.

Wellston and Vinton County will be in action again on Monday, as the Rockets will serve as host of the fifth TVC-Ohio Division match at Franklin Valley Golf Course.
