To the Vinton County Community:

This past cross country season has been one of tremendous accomplishment for our program.  The high school girls’ team was TVC and district champions and qualified for the state meet for the first time in school history, the high school boys’ team qualified for the regional meet for the first time since 2013, the middle school boys’ team defeated each Southeast District Division II team at least once during the course of the season, and we had a middle school girl rewrite our record book.

While the successes of these teams are commendable, their greatest achievement is the manner in which they represented our team, our school, and our community.  They have worn the Viking maroon and white with class and pride.

While the foundation of our runners’ successes were earned through the miles and miles ran during the scorching heat of summer, the pouring rains of spring, and the bone-chilling cold of winter, that success must be shared with all who played a role along our journey.  A big thank you goes out to all of the parents and family members, the administration and school board of the Vinton County Local School District, the local news media, and the entire Vinton County community for the outpouring of support our teams have received this year.  We are fortunate to live in such an incredible community.
