To The Editor:

The Jackson Marching Ironmen are ready for the 2019 football season! Band practice began in mid-July. Band camp was held July 21-26 at Jackson High School. The JCS Band Boosters provided lunch each day for the students. We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for donating to help feed the students, directors, and clinicians (approximately 200 people): Kroger of Jackson, Jerry’s Jamestown Market, Ron Queen, McDonald’s of Jackson, Lori Hill, the Hughes family, KFC of Jackson, Holzer Assisted Living-Jackson, Four Winds Community, Cross & Sons/Wanda Cross, Christian Life Academy, Dairy Queen of Jackson, Jackson Express, The Filling Station, Subway (Evans Center), Quick Stop, Pizza Hut, Cardo’s, Papa John’s, Mike’s One Stop, Midway Quick Mart, Little Caesars, Jackson Food Mart, Charlotte Johnson, Ron White, and Giovanni’s of Jackson.

The Marching Ironmen showcased new tunes at Meet the Band Night on July 26 in new summer uniforms. Another exciting new addition to the band is a new drumline!! Special thanks to the School Board and Superintendent Phil Howard for their help in purchasing the new percussion equipment. The Marching Ironmen will perform next at the first home game against the Wellston Rockets on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Alumni Stadium.

With many thanks!
