To The Editor:

In response to Candace Weddington, MA:

I had a really long rebuttal to your "positionality and power" column posted in The Telegram 20Jun2020, but decided against providing all the info debunking "systemic racism", "white privilege" and the worth of our police officers because I knew you and others like you wouldn't read it anyway because it's not what you believe.  Your reality is not my reality and after reading your little article, which I may add, sounded like something directly out of the ANTIFA or BLM socialist handbook, I wasn't going to argue over silly little facts that have been removed and continue to be removed daily from our country by people like you.

I have one question for you and your buddies.

Are you as outraged by the abortion of babies of color every year as you are by a few career criminals killed by the police?  Innocent babies.  At the end of 2017 a total of 295,000 Black babies and 195,000 Hispanic babies were murdered before they even had a chance to live.  They committed no crime.  When you are as outraged by this as you are by the unjust killings of people in police custody, maybe I'll start paying attention to your Socialist propaganda.

P.S. - Minneapolis is listed with a crime index of 4 (100 being the safest place to live).  The crime is 1.7% higher than the U.S. national average.  It's also 94.1% higher than other large U.S. cities.  In total 325 complaints against police were filed in 2019.  That's not a lot considering the size of the police force in a large city. I also wonder if some of the complaints were fabricated by disgruntled citizens.  Want to make a difference?  Join the police force and deal with what they have to deal with on a daily basis and see just how great the union is at protecting your life.
