A traffic stop made by the Wellston Police Department (WPD) last Thursday evening, June 30, resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, which was hidden in the suspect’s vehicle.

According to the WPD, officers conducted a traffic stop at 9:05 p.m. Thursday on West Second St. Officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle and found the passenger to have an active warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Officers then requested the WPD K9 Falk, who conducted a sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication.

Upon the search of the vehicle one drug pipe and an approximate 4.22 grams of suspected Methamphetamine was found under the seat of the vehicle. All items were seized to be sent for testing at Ohio BCI. Charges will be pending lab results and prosecutorial review.
