The Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton (GJMV) Solid Waste Management District has announced that its drop-off recycling site on State Route 349 (Lake Alma Road) beside the Bike Path in Wellston was closed, effective Wednesday, Nov. 18. GJMV Director/Treasurer Cindy Saltsman explained the decision to close the site was made due to illegal dumping and contamination as non-recyclable items were being left there as well. The two bins from the Lake Alma Road site have been moved to an existing drop-off recycling site (pictured) at the GJMV office located on South New Hampshire Avenue in Wellston. Consequently, there are now five bins instead of three at this location. “The sticker on front of the bins shows what we accept in our recycling program,” Saltsman noted. “As always, thanks for recycling and helping save our environment.” (Photo Courtesy of Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton Solid Waste Management District)
