As for the menu, Pig Iron Smokehouse & Grille has a wide selection of tasty foods. The cooking is done on wood for a tasty flavor.

Our menu is really broad,” said Ron. “We have our top-sellers, which is our brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Additionally, we offer various different types of food such as frog legs and catfish, which are also top-sellers. Additionally, ribs and steaks are available as well,. We also have anything from chicken tenders and salads to hamburgers.” 

The eatery also offer fresh-cut fries. Some of the other sides offered are baked beans, green beans, white mac and cheese, fried mushrooms and fried pickles. The restaurant also offers catering for large groups, but kindly ask for 24 to 48 hours’ notice in order to have all the food prepared.

Ison stated the restaurant also has 21 flavors of the popular Velvet Ice Cream for sale and as well as both fountain Coke and bottled Gem products.

On Sundays, Pig Iron Smokehouse & Grille is going to take customers on a trip to the past and offer traditional chicken dinners with all the fixings as a special. He said fried chicken would be available other days, but featured on Sundays.

Another popular feature is a combination digital jukebox and photo booth. The photo booth is free and gives customers four pictures of their experience. The jukebox requires payment, but is very unique, as customers can choose songs from today’s biggest hits to all-time classics across numerous genres of music. In the future, the Isons are planning to build a patio, with the hopes of having live music entertainment on selected nights.

The hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. Credit cards are accepted, and there are military, senior citizen and veteran discounts available. Ison stated many customers from Wellston, Jackson, Vinton County and other places throughout the area have visited the new restaurant thus far. The restaurant will beis offering delivery in Marchservice through the Door-Dash company and they are accepting one-line orders through their website and Facebook Page.

Ron and Danielle are inviting people to come in and give them a try, at a site where the customers are greeted by a statue of Wilbur the pig and treated with old-fashioned friendless.
