To better depict the need for major infrastructure projects like the one currently ongoing on New York Avenue and Broadway Street in Wellston, Service Director Anthony Brenner showed members of City Council an old, rusty, debris-filled section of recently replaced water line during a meeting held July 21. That section of pipe (pictured) was taken from a water line running along New York Avenue, which was recently replaced with plastic lines, according to Brenner. “These projects will continue to fix these things for us,” he told Council. “Using plastic will solve this. This is for the people who ask why we’re spending the money to do this. This line wasn’t leaking, but do you want that in your house? That’s why we’re doing this.”
