The heat and the bright sun drove many to the shelter of doorways and car interiors, but the mood was festive and patriotic as the Village of Oak Hill presented their annual 4th of July Parade on Sunday, July 3. Representatives from the Oak Hill Police Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Sheriff Tedd Frazier led a procession of municipal vehicles, classic cars and floats that lasted roughly five minutes. Appearances were also made by the 2021 Apple Festival and Jackson County Fair Royalty. In keeping with tradition, the Kiwanis Club of the Jackson Area provided activities geared toward kids in Manpower Park as part of the 4th of July celebration in Jackson on Sunday, July 3. Members sold glow sticks, sponsored inflatables, and provided free popcorn and water.
