The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatality-related crash that occurred at approximately 11:13 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 21, west of Oak Hill on Slab Hill Road (Township Road 327) near its intersection with State Route 279.

According to the Patrol, a 1999 model Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling north on Slab Hill Road while a 2005 model Pontiac G6 car was traveling south on Slab Hill Road. The Pontiac failed to yield half the roadway, striking the pickup truck. The driver of the Pontiac was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. The driver and passenger of the Ford F-250 sustained no injuries.

The roadway was closed approximately two hours. Agencies on scene were Madison-Jefferson Fire Department, Jackson County Emergency Medical Services, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Hill Police Department, Jackson County Ohio Department of Transportation, Jackson County Highway Department and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

No names were immediately released due to the crash remaining under investigation.
