The Board of Education of the Gallia-Jackson-Vinton Joint Vocational School District held its regular meeting on Sept. 9, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room on the Buckeye Hills Career Center campus.

In regular business, the Board:

--Approved the Capital Improvement Waiver Program and application.

--Approved Board Policy GCBCA (Professional Staff Capital Improvement Waiver Program) and GDBCA (Support Staff Capital Improvement Waiver Program) with their second reading.

--Approved Board Policy GBRA-E (Families First Coronavirus Response Act – Emergency Paid Sick/FMLEA Leave Request form).

--Authorized membership with the following: Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education and Ohio Association of Career-Technical Superintendents (OACTS).

--Accepted funds allocated to the District through the following grants: REAP and Broadband Ohio Connectivity.

--Established the Coronavirus Relief Fund.

In the Adult Education department, the Board:

--Accepted Pamala Cross’s resignation to be effective on Sept. 11, 2020.

--Confirmed employment for Jessica Blevins and Matthew Faber.

--Awarded a part-time, hourly contract for the following: Jessica Blevins, Matthew Faber, Randall Finney, Jerry Jividen, Hannah Kitts and Terrie Rees.

--Employed Kyla Coury and Kaitlyn Massie as Adult Center substitutes.

--Granted permission to enter into clinical agreements with Holzer Health System and Southern Ohio Medical Center.

In Personnel matters, the Board:

--Approved applied academic program supplemental contracts for the 2020/2021 school year for the following: John Barcus, Timothy Bartee, Brent Bethel, Carl Bing, Jennifer Bonzo, Sue Burleson, Mark Chaney, Matthew Crabtree, Morgan Daniels, Katie Dimel, Tyler Duncan, Pam Hager, Randy Hamilton, Rosalie Harper, Timothy Henderson, Timothy Howard, Amanda Hughes, John Hughes, Kimberly Lewis, Courtney Lewis-Cummons, Jason Montgomery, Shaun Northup, Autumn Perkins, Joy Poe, Daniel Polcyn, Paul Polcyn, Brandon Potter, Robin Schoonover, Randy Simmering, Tracy Staten, Jason Stout, Rebecca Stump, Victor VanMeter, Carrie Williamson and Tayler Wood.

--Approved the revised Custodian position description.

--Confirmed employment for Danny Browning and Averi Peoples as casual, part-time, substitute custodians.

--Employed the following as substitute aide and secretary for the 2020-2021 school year: Dawn Cline, Kyla Coury and Stephanie Stover.
