The Jackson County Board of Elections has released information regarding the lead-up to Ohio’s Special Primary Election set for Tuesday, Aug. 2. Ohio Voters can finally cast ballots for party nominations for state senator, state representative and state central committee positions. These will be the only items on the ballot.

Absentee Voting (mailed out and early in-office) began Tuesday, July 6. The office is open from Wednesday, July 6 through Friday, July 22 for early in-office voting each weekday (Monday through Friday) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, the Board of Elections Office is open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. for early voting. The weekend before Election Day, special voting hours are in place on Saturday, July 30 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 31, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The final day to vote early is Monday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. After 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, voters must go to their polling place to vote.
