Early voting began for the May 4 primary/special election in Jackson County on April 6 and will continue until Monday afternoon, May 3.

Early voting includes the submission of absentee ballots as well voting in-person at the Jackson County Board of Elections Office, located at the Jackson County Courthouse Annex, Suite 2, at 275 Portsmouth St. in Jackson.

The remaining hours for early voting are:

8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday (April 19 - April 23).

8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday-Friday (April 26- April 30).

8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1.

1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, May 2.

The final day to vote early will be Monday, May 3 beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

Absentee ballots started to be mailed out on April 6. Absentee ballots may be returned to the Board of Elections Office in person until Tuesday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. If they are mailed back, the Post Office must postmark them by midnight May 3. Absentee ballots may not be taken to the polls on Election Day, only to the Board of Elections Office.
