The Calvary United Methodist Church, located at 483 Chilicothe St., Jackson, celebrated its 70th anniversary during its regular Sunday service on June 6. In addition to several special member performances, the congregation stood to sing hymns throughout the service, including “How Great Thou Art” and “When We All Get to Heaven.” Pastor Max Stafford, six months into his service with the church, led the event with both humility and optimism at the head of the longtime members.
