There was a good turnout of prospective customers when the Amish Business Showcase and Oak Hill Community Yard Sale was conducted Saturday morning, June 5, at Aetna Park in Oak Hill.

There was a wide range of items for sale, and tasty food, drinks, and treats were also available. Chamber President Kurtis Strickland noted that the event is designed to bring people together and promote business in the Oak Hill area. It is also designed to help restaurants, convenience stores, and plaza-based businesses, as well as many others. Also on hand was Chamber Secretary Sandy Borden, who was in the midst of all the activity. Strickland thanked everyone for attending and supporting this event.

There were several unique vendors, including youngsters Wyatt, Walker, and William Strickland, along with Avery Bush, who were displaying their 3W Outdoors and YouTube.com video service. Vendor Brad Kearns also had a nice selection of tools.

There were also Amish-based businesses, including Southern Ohio Furniture and Antiques, featuring hardwood furniture, and Pine Valley Feed and Seed, which had a selection of dog food on the selling block.

Plenty of food and drinks were also available as Chamber member Richard Hamilton was grilling hot dogs, which the Chamber was giving away along with free chips and drinks. There were also some commercial food vendors, such as Karshner Concessions. Smoking Barnyard was also represented with its fine selection of pork and beef products. It sells at festivals and fairs all throughout the county and region.

The Chamber has been busy in the Oak Hill area, promoting it as a good place to live and do business. The Chamber  meets on the second Monday of every month at noon.
