The team from Jackson High School (JHS) won the overall FAC (Frontier Athletic Conference) Quick Recall Quiz Bowl championship as the result of a tournament conducted Saturday, Feb. 20. JHS Coach Kevin Bowman stated that all the regular-season matches as well as the tournament were conducted virtually on Google Meet. The competition included all six FAC schools as well as Logan and Unioto. Jackson emerged as the overall champion with an 18-3 record with Greenfield McClain finishing second with a 16-5 record. The other teams, in the order of finish, were: Logan, Chillicothe, Miami Trace, Unioto, Hillsboro, and Washington C.H. Pictured in the front row (from the left) are: Jillian Evans and Alexis Bragg. Coach Bowman commented: “Jillian and Drake are the leading scorers for our team, but we are very balanced with some better in science, some in literature, others in politics and geography, art and music. It is amazing some of the things these guys know and how quickly they can access the knowledge. They are super-smart and super-fast and it has been my privilege to coach them.” Jackson also won the regular-season championship at the junior varsity level, but there was no final tournament.
