The members of the Jackson Ironmen boys’ basketball team and coaches pose with a banner proclaiming the Frontier Athletic Conference (FAC) co-championship they had just earned with a 44-31 victory over visiting Greenfield McClain on Monday evening. The Ironmen of Coach Max Morrow will share the school’s first-ever FAC title with the Hillsboro Indians who had already completed their conference games. Historically, the championship was extremely significant as it marked Jackson’s first boys’ basketball championship since 1991 and only its fourth in the school’s long history. The Ironmen now advance to tournament play as they will host the Vinton County Vikings in a first-round Division II Sectional Tournament contest at 7 p.m. this Thursday evening.
