In a musical prelude to the 4th of July holiday, the D.M. Davis Choirs will perform a concert entitled “America Sings” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 at the auditorium of the Markay Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson. According to a spokeswoman, the choirs “will entertain you with a story and music that has resonated throughout our great country for decades, if not a couple of centuries!” Admission is only $5 in advance and $7 the day of the show. The spokeswoman added, “The men's and ladies’ choirs appreciate our communities and businesses and the support you give us. Nothing is more fulfilling for our choir members than to see the seats of the Markay filled with our friends and families, and even if you're new to our D.M. Davis Choirs, we invite you, too, to come and spend an hour or so with us on Sunday afternoon, June 26. Thank you, and we hope to see you there!” Pictured is the combined men’s  and women’s choirs performing at the Field of Heroes Closing Ceremony in Wellston this past Memorial Day, May 30. The Markay is located at 269 E. Main St.
