As owner-operator Nathan Kitts says, “You never know who will drop in at Rowdy’s (Smokehouse).” On the evening of Friday, Dec. 4, the popular barbeque-style restaurant was patronized by former Ohio State University star quarterback and former National Football League quarterback Cardale Jones. Jones (center) is pictured with Nathan Kitts (left) and Holly Waldron (right). Of course, Jones gained his greatest athletic fame by leading the Buckeyes to the 2014 National Championship after beginning the season as the third-string quarterback. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, and later was signed on with the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks organizations for short stints. Most recently, he played for DC Defenders of the Xtreme Football League (XFL). Jones was in Jackson County for a deer-hunting expedition and after dining at Rowdy’s reportedly proclaimed the fare as “the best BBQ in the Midwest.” (Photo Courtesy of Nathan Kitts)
