The post-season has arrived in the abbreviated 2020 Ohio high school football season and the Oak Hill Oaks have marked the occasion by hosting only the second playoff game in school history.

The game took place Saturday night at Davis Stadium and the parade may have helped as the Oaks defeated the Meigs Marauders by a 42-8 count. The Oaks now advance to the second round of the playoffs in Region 19 of Division V as they will play Saturday, Oct. 17, at West Lafayette Ridgewood with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.

Leading up to last Saturday’s game, Oaks’ Nation got into the spirit with a Friday night parade to honor the football team. Participating in the parade were the Oak Hill football players, cheerleaders, the Marching Oaks Band, the Oak Hill Police Department and other school supporters.

The parade route started and ended at the old high school on Western Avenue and wound around through the neighborhoods and through the business district near the Acorn Shopping Plaza. The event was carried live on the Total Media Facebook page where it still can be viewed.
