Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Jackson Ministerial Association will not be conducting its annual series of Lenten Luncheon programs, which are normally held the each Wednesday during Lent at the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Only one Lenten Luncheon program was conducted last year before the pandemic shut down the remaining schedule.

In its place, six pastors from the Ministerial Association will be sharing a weekly devotional video online, which can be accessed on the Facebook page of the Jackson Christ United Methodist Church at Jackson CUMC/Videos.

The first of these video presentations was conducted Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. and was an Ash Wednesday service, which was conducted at the Christ United Methodist Church.

Other video presentations scheduled in the coming weeks will be:

Wednesday, Feb. 24 – The Rev. Ron Anderson from the Seventh Day Adventist Church will share a devotion.

Wednesday, March 3 – The Rev. Gary Hogue from the Wesley United Methodist Church will share a devotion.

Wednesday, March 10 – The Rev. Shelley Wiley from the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson will share a devotion.

Wednesday, March 17 – Retired United Methodist Pastor Terry Cavanaugh will share a devotion.

Wednesday, March 24 – The Rev. Hannah Niday of the First Christian Church will share a devotion.

On Friday, April 2, the Jackson Ministerial Association will sponsor a Community Good Friday Service at the Family Life Center of the Christ United Methodist Church. The Family Life Center is located on Portsmouth Street next to the Jackson Police Station.
