The Jackson-Vinton Farm Bureau will once again be making apple butter this year, with proceeds to go to local youth FFA Chapters.  Senior OD Kim Harless said, “COVID has kept our FFA kids from assisting with Farm Bureau events, so we want to help them out.”

The farm bureau will only be making and selling pints, and the cost is only $5 per pint.  Sales will begin on Monday, Sept. 21 at the Farm Bureau Office (231 Broadway Street, Jackson) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We will start cooking on Saturday, Sept. 19 around 7:30 or 8:30 a.m.,” said spokesman Lindsey Coyan, County Office Administrator. “We are making the apple butter behind the Farm Bureau Office at 231 Broadway Street and will be there most of the day!” She added, “Feel free to come and check us out!  We have our health department approval and social distancing will be followed.”
