The Jackson Lions Club held its annual Steak Dinner on Wednesday, June 2 to install officers for the upcoming 2021-2022 year and to recognize accomplishments of service to the organization and the community.

Twenty-seven members and guests were in attendance to enjoy the evening’s activities, that included participation by district Lions Club International Foundation representative Mary Bumpass and Past District Governor Sue Habin -- both who presided over the installation of officers. One of the highlights of the event was recognizing perfect attendance awards that result from a combination of meeting attendance and/or participation in the club’s various service projects through the year.

Three Lions, all who have served as President during their membership, had exceptional records of service. Jack Coyan was recognized for 58 years, Ted Nichting for 50 years, and Marvin Payne for 48 years.

The Jackson Lions also wishes to thank the local community for supporting their recent Jackson County Veal Sale fund-raiser. As a result, along with support from Adena Health, $2,000 has been donated to Type I Diabetes Research.

The next upcoming event will be putting out the flag display at participating homes and businesses to recognize Flag Day. Contact Pam Miller at 740-577-4616 for membership information.
