The community continues to mourn the loss of a young man who died following a tragic motorcycle accident.

Kyle Mason Chandler, 25, of Oak Hill, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 29. His obituary described him as a “hardworking, loving father and husband. He gave 100 percent on everything he did, and he loved so hard. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children.”

Chandler was laid to rest on Wednesday, Aug. 3, in Henry Cemetery in Lucasville. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

In addition to monetary contributions to the funeral home, a benefit account for the Chandler family has been set up by Jackson County Clerk of Courts Seth Michael.

“When you work with folks, often times you become more of a family than just co-workers,” said Michael. “That is no different for the employees at the Clerk of Courts offices.”

Michael said, “As many know, one of the members of our work family, Marlie Chandler, lost her husband in a tragic motorcycle accident. They have two beautiful children and had only been married for 13 days at the time of the accident.”

He noted that Marlie has worked with him as a Deputy Clerk at the Title Department/BMV for over three years.

“She is a dedicated employee, hard worker, and a wonderful mother and wife,” explained Michael. “We know that there are other folks that are raising money on the family's behalf, and I am sure that there will be future fundraising efforts such as benefits or raffles, but her work family has felt led to establish an account to assist in the effort and welcome those that are able and willing to donate to this cause.”

Michael added, “I assure you, Marlie is not the type to ask for help, so we are asking for her. Please consider helping if you are able and please pray for Kyle Chandler's family, wife and children. We appreciate your consideration, God bless you all.”
