Though the 50th installment of the annual Bob Evans Farm Festival was set to take place months from now, concerns surrounding the COVID-19 health crisis have forced the event’s cancellation.

The Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau recently received confirmation of the news via a statement from President and CEO of Bob Evans Restaurants, Saed Mohseni. The 50th Annual Bob Evans Farm Festival, which is a celebration of the harvest season and which typically attracts thousands with its entertainment, traditional crafts, farm contests, food, children’s activities and demonstrations, had been scheduled for Oct. 9-11.

“The Bob Evans Farm Festival has been part of our history for the last 49 years,” Mohensi said in the statement. “Every year we see how much our guests and the surrounding communities love the Farm Festival event, and that is why it is difficult to announce that we will be cancelling this year’s event due to the impact of COVID-19. Based on guidelines established by the state of Ohio for large events and our concern for the safety and comfort of our employees and guests, we believe canceling this event is in the best interest of our community.”

Mohensi further stated the event’s 50th installment is currently being planned for fall 2021.
