Carl R. Wooten, Jr., age 70, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Carl was born in Jackson, Ohio to Carl Wooten and Elsie (Weese) Wooten on Dec. 17, 1946. Carl was a 1964 graduate of Jackson High School, a graduate of the University of Rio Grande, and a teacher at Eastern Local Schools for 36 years. Carl was a figure on the sidelines of many Jackson sporting events. He spent over 50 years manning the chain crew at football games, keeping scorebooks, and running scoreboards. His true passion in recent years was spending time with his four beloved grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his wife, Linda (Largent) Wooten; sons: Chad (Stephanie) Wooten and Doug (Sarah) Wooten; daughter, Ashley (Jeremy) Sturgill; and four grandchildren: Jace, Abby, Bryner, and Calianne.

Carl is preceded in death by his father, Carl Wooten, Sr.; mother, Elsie Wooten; and infant daughter, Cynthia Wooten.
