Rose Mary (McDowell) McKinniss

Rose Mary (McDowell) McKinniss, 76, of Ray, Ohio, passed away May 18, 2017 at her daughter's home in Logan, Ohio.

Rose Mary was born Nov. 17, 1940 in Grundy, VA to William Eugene "Gene" and Golda Leona McDowell. She was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Larry G. McKinniss, and children, Michael A. Inman of Logan, Karon Snipes of Logan, Tamberlee K. Tripp of Logan, and William A. (Sandra K.) Inman of Lebanon; step-children, Donald A. McKinniss of Albany, Sheryl L. West of Bremen, Lorin G. McKinniss of Hilliard, and Sandra L. (Rob) Schmitt of Pickerington; brother, George McDowell; grandchildren, Tommy, Andrew, Stephen, Meranda, Goldie, Mikey, Scott and Regina; step-grandchildren, Laura Gail, Shanda, Trevor, Davis and Erin; sister-in-law, Dixie McDowell; brother-in-law, Robert Burns; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and special friends, Roxie Hall, Patricia Spangler and Dennis Brooks.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Lou Harris and Carol Burns; brothers, William McDowell and Daniel "Boone" McDowell; sister-in-law, Janice McDowell; and brother-in-law, Everett Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2017, at the Fairview United Methodist Church in Rockbridge, Ohio with Pastor Mark Rosser officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be observed Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio and Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Rose Mary preferred live plants.
