Lady Vikings win TVC Ohio Division Championship

The Vinton County Lady Vikings cross-country team wrapped up the season by winning the Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division Championship on Saturday, at Wellston High School. The team finished with 28 points and a 21:00.61 average time in the 5K. The win by the Lady Vikings snapped Athens' conference win streak at 10. Riley Fee took second overall, Lilly Chevalier was third, and Olivia Mayers earned fourth - and all earned All-TVC individual honors. In the high school boys' race, Vinton County finished fourth and host Wellston was fifth out of six teams. Nelsonville-York was the only school in the Ohio Division who didn't field a team. The Frontier Athletic Conference has named its 2017 all league team. The inaugural year had Co Champions for the league title. Jackson and Chillicothe both finished with identical league records of 7-1.

WELLSTON - After surviving a letdown in the second set, the Wellston Lady Rockets' volleyball team regained its composure to win over Vinton County, 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22) in a Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division match on Thursday night in the season finale for both squads.

The Jackson Ironladies finished the 2016 season with a 5-0 win over the Waverly Lady Tigers in non-conference action Thursday night at Alumni Stadium. With the victory, Jackson improves to 12-3 and is now preparing for the post-season play.
