A Wellston woman was injured and a section of Pennsylvania Avenue in Wellston was closed for several hours as the result of a one-car wreck on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 27.
According to the Wellston Police Department, the wreck occurred at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday and involved a northbound car driven on North Pennsylvania Avenue by Genna Pierce, 25, of Wellston. Her car ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a curb, and then ran over a utility pole.
Pierce was injured and was taken by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Medical Center-Jackson. Her 2-year-old son who was a passenger was not injured.
The section of Pennsylvania Avenue between First Street and Second Street was closed for several hours so the utility pole could be replaced.
Wellston Police cited Pierce with failure to control.
