The Jackson Ironmen football team is scheduled to play a football game this Friday evening, Sept. 8 at Gallipolis, but they will be at work the next Saturday morning, Sept. 9 to collect donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
Head football coach Andy Hall has announced that the Ironmen will be stationed at Alumni Stadium on the Jackson High School campus from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday to collect donations from the public, which will then be packaged and transported to the storm victims in Texas.
Items which are being sought for donation include: Non-perishable food items which can be prepared without electricity such as trail mix, protein bars and beg jerky; personal hygiene products such as bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorants; cleaning supplies such as gloves, paper towels, and household cleaning products; and baby products such as diapers, wipes and soap.
