Zip Systems is now under new ownership, at a new location and operating under a new name.
Effective June 1, Zip Systems was acquired by Jackson County Broadcasting, Inc. (JCBI) from the company's founders and continuing owner/operators, Jackson area residents Nick Summers and Janet Stockmeister.
They started Zip Systems in 1992 and in recent years, the business has operated from leased quarters at 345 East Main St. in Jackson. The business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
The name of Zip Systems has been changed to Zip Printing and the business has been moved to JCBI's Radio Building, located at 295 E. Main St., just one block from the former location.
JCBI General Manager Amanda Crabtree will oversee Zip Printing and Aaron Seitz will serve as the print shop manager.
"Zip Printing is a perfect complement to our current business of providing news, information and entertainment and I am thrilled with the opportunity to offer additional services to Jackson and surrounding counties," Crabtree said. "There are a lot of exciting things happening in downtown Jackson and we hope people will remember us when they need locally printed items."
Zip Printing will continue to offer printing of all shapes and sizes, including single copies, flyers, business cards, notepads, NCR forms, door hangers, marketing materials and multi-page bound publications. In addition, Zip Printing can also provide wedding and party invitations, thank-you cards and napkins as well as larger items such as banners and signage. Zip can also produce high school fan wear, including T-shirts and sweatshirts or customers can design their own shirts.
The acquisition of Zip Printing adds yet another component to JCBI's growing range of media operations and services, which now includes four radio stations: WKOV (96.7 FM), WCJO (97.7 FM), WYRO (98.7 FM), and WYPC (Fox Sports 1330 AM); a twice-weekly newspaper, The Telegram, and a digital billboard. All these operations are now based at The Radio Building.
