JCS retirees recognized by board

Nearly every year during the September meeting of the Jackson City Schools (JCS) Board of Education, recent retirees from the district are recognized by the board, the administration and colleagues of the individuals being honored. The Thursday, Sept. 6 meeting was no different.

Final Coal Festival is history
The final Wellston Coal Festival is in the history books as its five-day run ended on a rainy Saturday, Sept. 8. Next year, the festival will be renamed the Wellston Ohio Hill Country Festival, which will take the celebration back to its original roots as Ohillco Days.
