Upward leader is 'Hometown Hero'
John Moore (standing in the back) was recently named by the local branch of Modern Woodmen of America as its “Hometown Hero” for 2017 for his leadership efforts in establishing and leading the operation of the Upward Sports programs (flag football, soccer and cheerleading) through the First Baptist Church of Jackson. A young man who has spearheaded the efforts in recent years to provide Christian-based youth recreation programs in the Jackson area has been selected by the Jackson chapter of Modern Woodmen of America as its local "Hometown Hero" for 2017.
