Summer Manufacturing Institute brings kids, local plants together

Seventh and eighth-graders from across Jackson County gathered together at the start of this week in the cafeteria of Jackson Middle School (JMS) to officially kick off the third installment of the Jackson County Manufacturing Institute.

300 animals sold at Livestock Sale
Another Jackson County Fair Livestock Sale is in the history books as a total of 300 animals were scheduled to be sold at the Joe Morgan Memorial Show Arena on Friday evening, July 21 with the sale taking a little more than eight hours to complete.

Brogan Speraw awarded International Essential Tremor Foundation Scholarship
The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) is pleased to award a $1,000 scholarship to student Brogan Speraw from Wellston, Ohio, for the 2017-2018 academic year. Speraw is one of four students from across the nation to receive a scholarship award from the IETF.

Goodwill getting new home in Jackson
Goodwill Industries soon will be getting a new home in Jackson.

Dirt is now flying on a new retail store/donation center site for Goodwill Industries to serve the Jackson area, which will be located on McCarty Lane on property north of Veterans Drive between the Fastenal and West Virginia Electric stores.
