37th Annual Foothills Art Festival set for Oct. 12-14
Southern Hills Arts Council announces Youth category, new this year

Approximately 400 works of art are expected, in seven different categories, to be on display the weekend of Oct. 12-14 at the 37th Annual Foothills Art Festival at Canter's Cave 4-H Camp. Canter's Cave is located five miles north of Jackson, Ohio, off Route 35.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Festival Friday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 14 from noon to 5 p.m.

There is no admission charge, parking is free, and the lodge is handicapped-accessible.

New this year is a Youth category, offering youth ages 17 and under a chance to exhibit among amateur and professional artists. Along with Youth, you will be able to view Oils/Acrylics, Watercolor, Three-Dimensional, Photography (straight and enhanced), Pastels/Drawings, and Mixed Media.

"With leaves hitting their fall finest in this part of Ohio, this is the perfect time to experience Foothills in the foothills! Canter's Cave is nestled back into a hollow and offers great hiking trails and breathtaking scenery - trail maps are available to enjoy before or after viewing the artwork," said Cora Willett, Event Chair.

This year, concessions will be available from the Committee for Kidz from noon to 5 p.m. each day.

Foothills Art Festival is organized by Southern Hills Arts Council and sponsored by Peoples Bank, WesBanco and Bellisio Foods. Artist cash awards are sponsored by Eisnaugle Custom Picture Framing, in Memory of Jim Brown, the Willett Family and an anonymous donor.

For more information, call Southern Hills at 740-286-6355 or email to foothills@markayjackson.org.
