Jackson County Gear Grinders are 'Geared Up for Christmas'!
Letters of request must be received by Dec. 1
The Jackson County Gear Grinders are honored to take over the project formerly known as Secret Santa. The project is now known as "Geared up for Christmas." The purpose of this project is to help provide Christmas gifts to children in Jackson County.
If your family needs assistance, please mail a letter to Geared up for Christmas, and send it to P.O. Box 8, Jackson, OH 45640. Include the following information: Full name of the parent/guardian, address, and phone number. For each child, include the full name, age, and gender. If clothing is needed, give detailed information about sizes. Also, include clearly what the child needs and/or would like to have for Christmas. Letters must be received by Dec. 1, 2017.
"The success of this project depends upon contributions from individuals and businesses in our communities," a spokesman for Gear Grinders said.
There are many ways individuals and/or your groups and businesses can help, including:
* Sponsorship of a child or children.
* Donating a new toy or article of clothing.
* Donating money.
* Helping spread the word and encourage others to contribute.
"If you would like to sponsor one or more children, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a list of items needed," the spokesman added. "Or, pick up an ornament from an Angel Tree at one of these locations in Jackson: Peebles Department Store, Peoples Bank, or the Jackson Area YMCA. You can drop off your contributions at these locations as well as Papa John's Pizza in Jackson, University of Rio Grande in Jackson, and 1st Choice Auto Detail & Tint in Oak Hill. We ask that all toys and clothing be dropped off by Dec. 9, 2017."
To donate money, please send a check to Jackson County Gear Grinders, P.O. Box 8, Jackson, OH 45640. In the memo line, write "Geared up for Christmas." Or, visit the Facebook page and click the GoFundMe link.
