"First Friday Feasts" at First Presbyterian July 28, Aug. 4
A "First Friday Feast" at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson, located at 225 Church St. (across from Apple Tower), will be held on Friday, July 28 and Friday, Aug. 4, with serving from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The First Friday Feasts are held regularly each month. 'Taking Back the Streets' at Morton & Logan Streets Aug. 1
The Neighborhood Watch Program for Morton Street and Surrounding Area invites the community to: National Night Out, set for Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the corner of Morton and Logan streets (6th year), from 6 to 8 p.m. "Come out and join us in 'Taking Back the Streets'," a spokesman said, "for food, fun, music and door prizes. Please bring your own chairs."
Annual Flea Market at Jackson Lake Campground Aug. 5
Jackson Lake Campground will be having its Annual Flea Market on Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested persons may contact Francine Hall for further information.
7th Annual Bob Willis Memorial Golf Scramble Aug. 19
The 7th Annual Bob Willis Memorial Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 at Franklin Valley Golf Course, located at 6954 Franklin Valley Road, Jackson. Registration is at 7:30 a.m.; shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m. Fee is $50 per person or $200 per team. There will be prizes for first, second and third place. Mark Wood Fun Show at Oak Hill Library July 24
The Oak Hill Public Library will be having the Mark Wood Fun Show which will include magic tricks, balloon animals, and lots of laughs on Monday, July 24 for all ages at 1 p.m. With any questions, call the library at 740-682-6457.
Vacation Bible School at Zion #3 Church July 24-28
Vacation Bible School at Zion #3 Church will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each evening July 24-28 with a closing program on Sunday, July 30 at 7 p.m. Ages "Toddlers to Teenagers" are welcome to attend. On Friday, July 28, prizes will be drawn which will include Walmart gift cards.
"Meet the Band" at JHS Alumni Stadium July 28
The Jackson Band Boosters invite everyone to "Meet the Band" on Friday, July 28 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Stadium. The 2017 Marching Ironmen, under the direction of Mr. Aaron Rex, will take the field with a preview of tunes for the upcoming marching season. Admission is free, and gates open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a class spirit contest and a raffle for a five-pound Hershey bar. The JCS Band Boosters would like to thank all of the sponsors for Band Camp Week. Please attend and support the "Pride of Jackson."
Pediatric Back-to-School Fair Scheduled July 29
Holzer is hosting a Pediatric Back to School Fair on Saturday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hospital's shelter house, located next to Holzer Center for Cancer Care in Gallipolis. The first 100 children to attend will receive backpacks filled with school essentials. A variety of activities will be available including bounce houses, face painting, refreshments, education materials, and more. For more information, call (740) 446-5901.

24th Annual Pig Iron Day at Manpower Park Aug. 5
The 24th Annual Pig Iron Day celebration in Jackson, presented by the Jackson Firefighters Association, is set for Saturday, Aug. 5 in Manpower Park. A full schedule of events will be published separately, including baton exhibitions, a "Wheels of Steel" Car Show, food for sale at old-fashioned prices, inflatables for kids, musical entertainment by Jason "Pudge" Gillum and Ben Davis Jr., free 2017 pig iron bars, a WCJO 97.7 live remote, a plaque auction and more.
