Jackson High School Class of 1956 Meeting May 26

The Jackson High School Class of 1956 will be meeting at The Ponderosa Restaurant in Jackson on Friday, May 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Wellston Room. The price will be $6.99 per person, drinks included. All classmates are invited to join in for a time of good food and fellowship.

Benefit for Accident Victim Gary Trent May 28

A benefit for Gary Trent will be held at the Jackson Memorial Building on Sunday, May 28 at 2 p.m. with a Cornhole Tournament starting at 2:30 p.m.; followed by a Chinese auction. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, baked-goods auction, a DJ and concessions for sale. Gary was in a tragic motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 30. He was severely injured and is currently in critical condition at OU Hospital, with a long road to recovery ahead of him. He is an Army veteran and he and his wife, Sandy, are both long-time employees of General Mills. All proceeds will go to help with medical and family expenses, and all help is greatly appreciated. Huge Yard Sale at Christian Life Academy June 1-3

Christian Life Academy will hold a huge yard sale June 1, 2 and 3, opening at 8:30 a.m., in the CLA gymnasium. The school is located at 10595 Chillicothe Pike, Jackson.

Welsh Museum Open for Memorial Day Weekend

The Welsh-American Heritage Museum, located at 412 East Main St., Oak Hill, has announced open hours for Memorial Day weekend. First Presbyterian "First Friday Feasts" May 26, June 2

A "First Friday Feast" at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson, located at 225 Church St. (across from Apple Tower), will be held on Friday, May 26, and Friday, June 2, with serving from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The First Friday Feasts are held regularly each month. WFD's Danny Holtz Memorial Pancake Breakfast May 27

The Wellston Fire Department's Danny Holtz Memorial Pancake Breakfast is set for Saturday, May 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Wellston Fire Station 2, 110 West Second St. (formerly MedFlight). The cost is $5, for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and a drink. For presale tickets or more information, call 740-384-2128. Delivery will also be available within the Wellston city limits.

Round House Hot Dog Day in Downtown Jackson May 27

The Jackson Historical Society (JHS) will conduct its annual Round House Hot Dog Day on Saturday, May 27 at the historic Round House, located on East Main Street in downtown Jackson between the courthouse and the Jackson County Health Department. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., JHS members will be selling hot dogs with the locally famous Round House hot dog sauce as well as cotton candy, popcorn and beverages.

Free Clothing Giveaway at Glen Roy Freewill Baptist May 27

Glen Roy Freewill Baptist Church will hold a free clothing giveaway on Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be free refreshments and everyone is welcome. The church is located at St. Rt. 93, Glen Roy, Ohio.

Jackson High School Alumni & "The Happening" May 27

The Jackson High School Alumni Association will conduct the Alumni Program Saturday, May 27 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Jackson Middle School Auditorium (former high school), and this event is free. "The Happening," a party open to all Jackson High School alumni and their guests, is set for the same evening from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Jackson Area YMCA, and the cost for this event is $20 per person in advance, or $25 at the door.

Wilton High School Alumni Dinner/Reunion May 27

The Wilton High School Alumni Dinner will be held Saturday, May 27 at the Wilkesville Community Center, beginning with a social hour at 4 p.m. and carry-in dinner and program at 5 p.m. "We are asking folks to bring any old photos related to the their school days and old photos of Wilkesville; we want to make copies," said Constance White, Wilton Alumni Association President. "We will be honoring the classes celebrating 60-, 65-, and 70-year class anniversaries."

Wellston High School Alumni President John Pelletier has announced that tickets for this year's Wellston High School Alumni Banquet are now available. The 127th Annual Wellston Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 27 at Wellston Middle School. Cost of each ticket will be $20, which includes a fully catered Social Hour that will begin at 5 p.m.; and the Alumni Banquet will start at 6 p.m. The tickets are available at Brodigan's Sports and Trophies on South Ohio Avenue in Wellston.

Coalton High School Alumni Reunion Dinner May 27

The Coalton High School Alumni Reunion Dinner will be held on Saturday, May 27 at the James A. Rhodes Community Center in Coalton. This will mark the 53rd year since the last class graduated from CHS. All former Coalton graduates, students, their families, and guests are welcome. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour preceding at 5:30. Doors open at 5 p.m. Reunion classes are those ending in 7 and 2. Alumni officers are: President, Pamela Hammond Smith; Vice President, Brenda Downey Coffey; and Secretary/Treasurer, Gloria Brown Speakman. The Blackfork Decatur-Washington School Reunion of 2017 will be held on Saturday, May 27, in the social room of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. The 141st McArthur High School Alumni celebration will be held at Vinton County High School on Saturday, June 3. Social hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person.
