Meat Market May Be In The Works For Vinton County
Meat Market May Be In The Works For Vinton County

Shawn Riley, (left), who served 15 years as the meat department manager at the former SuperValu store, has approached the Vinton County Commissioners (Mike Bledsoe and Jerry Zinn are pictured) about the possibility of opening a meat and produce market. During the Monday, July 28 meeting, Riley, the commissioners, and Development Director Terri Fetherolf discussed a loan package and repayment plan with Riley and Reverend Jim Taylor. Riley explained the store would be located in McArthur and sell beef, pork, chicken, and ham salad. He also may branch out into deli items, pies, and breads. Fetherolf is working on a package and if it is approved by her funding source a loan can be made. Riley explained he has ordering, payment, and management experience and loves his hometown. The commissioners will revisit this issue in the near future. Watch The Telegram for more details as this story develops. (Telegram Photo By Red Thompson, Jr.)
