The need for supplies to aid people impacted by Hurricane Harvey in the Houston, Texas area, and many other communities in the Lone-Star State, is still great. Vinton County Citizens who want to help can donate supplies this week at the Shrivers Pharmacy location on N. Market Street in McArthur.
Lead Pharmacy Manager Hayley Sowers told The Telegram, "The effort is a coordinated one between all Shrivers locations in Southern Ohio." She explained the company is working in conjunction with the American Red Cross and that the donated items would be picked up Saturday morning to head for Houston in a semi-truck.
A large box has already been filled, with all kind of basic-need items, and more boxes will be put out for donations. The business will be accepting donations during regular hours, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., until they close Friday night. She appreciates the customers and community members who have donated, or will be donating, to people suffering from the monster storm.
